2012 Movie Review

2012 was by far one of the best disaster movies I have seen in a very long time. I was searching for a good film on my satellite tv I got through Direct Star TV deals when I found it. The way the movie tied in the prophecies from the Mayans, the ancient Egyptians, the Holy Bible and other religions was astounding. The graphics of the flooding, earthquakes, volcanoes and man’s own greed even with faced with the end of humankind was breath taking. I especially liked the way several stories were all tied together that ran through the movie and ended at the climax of the film. It had an actual beginning, middle and end that carried through to the end and made perfect clarity.

John Cusack is a washed out writer who was trying to save his family at the end of the world showed mankind never gives up. He believed in the face of great danger to himself that mankind could rise above selfishness, pettiness and still could find deep down we all had some goodness left in us. I especially liked the fact that the man who was the President of the United States had his book in his personal collection when they were riding out the greatest worldwide storm of man’s existence at the end of the movie.

The way the governments around the world hid the truth from the nations populations was probably exactly what are current governments would do in such a situation. Selling tickets to the highest bidder for survival was no surprise and the way the officials justified who was saved and who died was typical.
